Public openings done for awhile

My 2 days of being open to the public were not as busy as I would have liked, but there was a steady stream of customers most of the afternoon both days.

Now it is time to put the unsold pieces in the showroom and get my workspaces cleared so I can get back to making pottery.

I'm still struggling with my kiln overfiring and even though the tech guy at the kiln company has been very helpful, I'm sure missing ClayArt! I really need to post a query about the problems I'm having.

But for now, we are only a few days from Christmas, so the focus shifts to family & friends & the holidays.

There will be time to sort it all out after the first of the year.

Loaded Kiln

I loaded the kiln with greenware tonight after work. It is a light load; I have a dozen soup bowls and a dozen mugs that I threw last weekend that I did not put in the firing. I don't think they are dry enough. When it is cold like this, it is hard to tell whether the work is dry or not. I really wanted to fire it, but I decided it was better to be safe and wait until the next bisque firing. I will start the kiln tomorrow and unload on Sunday. Will try to get a load glazed after work this week so I can fire next Friday. If I get that done, I'll be able to open the kiln on Saturday while my studio is open. A lot to accomplish when I'm working all day, but I will try.
