Ron helped

I had lots of bowls to trim & wanted to make them into colanders, so Ron helped me today by punching holes after I trimmed the bowls. Thanks, Ron.

Web Site Updated

I have been putting a lot of time into the BeachWare web site www.SueBeachPottery.com and I think it is finally mostly done (for now).

Web sites need constant tending, so it will never be really finished, but I have cleaned it up quite a bit.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Making Pots

Been busy making lots of pots the past few days.

BeachWare is now being carried at Gordy Fine Art & Framing in Muncie. http://gordyframing.com/

I will be selling pottery at the Bloomington Handmade Market on Nov. 6 from 10 - 5 at the Bloomington Convention Center. http://bloomingtonhandmademarket.blogspot.com/

I have been working to get my website updated. Still need to do more work on it, but I am making progress. http://www.suebeachpottery.com

I will post pictures of the new pieces once they are complete.

February

Another cold, snowy, windy Saturday.

Made some mugs and bowls and lidded jars at John Peterson Pottery last week. Looking forward to glazing and firing them. I have a customer waiting on the mugs.

Longing for spring.

Winter

This time of year is especially hard on me. I find it really difficult to leave the warm house and go out to the studio to work. Even though I love creating pottery, I just can't seem to get out there much from Christmas to March. Once the days & weather brighten & warm I will suddenly feel the urge again. I try not to stress about it. It has happened every winter since I've been making pottery.

We got a lot of snow last week & so the roads are not very good. We are staying in and staying warm today. Besides my usual Saturday chores, I decided to finally start a batch of wine. I used to make wine a lot in "my former life," but have not made any in years. We had lots of grapes on our vines last summer, so I froze them whole & planned to make wine. I've spent most of the day today cleaning & mashing semi-frozen grapes. I still have several bags to go. Once they are thawed and releasing their juices, I can start the fermentation.

So even if I am not making pots, I am creating. In a year or so, we will have some homemade wine. If all goes well.
